ADA - Government Auditing to Ensure HIPAA Compliance: On December 12th, the American Dental Association posted news on the first series of random audits organized through the Office of Civil Rights. They include OCR's site statement "Audits present a new opportunity to examine mechanisms for compliance, identify best practices and discover risks and vulnerabilities that may not have come to light through OCR’s ongoing complaint investigations and compliance reviews.” Many healthcare professionals have reason to believe this is just step one of future actions.
